The Common kingfisher is also known as the river kingfisher it is from the Alcedinidae family also known as the kingfisher family. It is the least concern species. The upper side of the body is blue and the underside of the body is orange in color. The upper side of the wings are in different shades of blue and the underside is orange and black in color. The beak is black and the talons are orange in color. The chin is white in color.
The kingfisher feeds on Minnows, Sticklebacks, Roach and Trout. The kingfisher is found in Europe, Asia, and North Africa. The species was discovered by carl Linnaeus in 1758.
