The eagle is also known as the White-tailed sea eagle or the Eurasian sea eagle. The bald eagle is considered to be a close cousin of the White-tailed eagle (if you want to check out the bald eagle please click on the link at the bottom)and cousin of the Steelers sea eagle(if you want to check out the Steelers sea eagle please click on the link at the bottom). The adult White-tailed eagle is greyish mid brown all over. The plumage is fairly uniform over most of the body and the wing but the upper wing coverts are typically somewhat paler. contrasting with the rest of the plumage in the adult are clearly paler looking head, neck and upper breast which is most often a buffy hue. the brownish hue of the adult overall makes the somewhat wedge-shaped white tail stand out in contrast. all the bare parts of the body are yellow in color including the bill, cere, feet, and eyes.

The eagle's diet includes fish like lumpfish and crap etc the eagle's diet also includes other bird such as diving duck, waterfowl and mammals like foxes, hares, otters, seal, and jackals. The eagle can be found in Siberia, central Asia, some parts of India like Gujarat, northern Europe, Pakistan, Afghanistan, China, Korea, Japan, Taiwan, and Greenland. The white-tailed eagle discovered by the Swedish naturalist Carl Linnaeus in 1748.

  2. The names 'Haliaeetus'(sea eagle) comes from the new Latin 'sea eagle'.

The Harpy eagle The Harpy eagle is also called the Amazon Harpy eagle or the Royal-Hawk. It is the largest and most powerful eagle found in the rain forest. The eagle can live up to 25 to 35 years. The upper half of the harpy eagle's body is covered with slate-black feathers while the underside is mostly white. A broad black band across the upper breast separates the grey head from the white belly. The head is pale grey and is crowned with a double crest. The upper half of the tale is black with three grey bands and the underside of it is black with three white bands. The core and the bill are black and the tarsi and the toes are yellow. A female harpy can weigh up to 6 - 9 kg and the males can weigh up to 4 - 4.8kg. The harpy eagle is 86.5-107 cm in total length and has a wingspan of 176-224 cm.
